Is social distancing keeping you from throwing a baby shower? Don’t let it stop you from showering love on the new Mama! Arrange a doorbell dash baby shower! Made complete with games, goodies, and gifts!
These are CRAZZZZZZZY times!
How are you coping?
I am a bit of a homebody, so I haven’t minded all that much being stuck at home. Well for the first little while anyways…
But as a pregnant mama in the third trimester, I have felt a little lonesome preparing for the exciting birth of my new little baby without the in person element of family and friends.
I didn’t realize how much so until I opened my door this past Sunday morning to a HUGE surprise on my doorstep!
At 7:30 in the morning we heard our doorbell ring. My husband looked out the window to see who it was but all he saw was a car driving away. We didn’t bother opening the door until a little later when my boys peaked out the front window and exclaimed in delight that they saw donuts!
On that note, we rushed to open the door (donuts do that for our family!). ๐ To our delight, we found that our front door had been decorated and the porch was filled with gifts and goodies. I was astounded by the love and generosity of my friends. I wasn’t sure if I was going to start laughing or crying with joy! #dangpregnancyhormones.
I later discovered that my wonderful friend Caden had arranged all of this. She had wanted to throw me a baby shower, but with things being as they are right now, she did the next best thing, a surprise doorbell dash baby shower!
She had coordinated with everyone ahead of time to drop gifts off at her house so she could set them all out on my doorstep. There was a cute basket full of themed games, a large baby bottle full of lollipops for a guessing game, festive party plates and napkins, and of course, hand sanitizer. She really thought of everything!
So if you were planning to throw a party for your mama-to-be friend and her new little bundle of joy, don’t let social distancing stop you!
Host a virtual baby shower, organize a car parade, or leave her a surprise on her doorstep. Anything you think of to let her know she is loved and not forgotten.
It will mean the world to her, just take it from this mama! ๐
Stay well my friends!
