I’ve designed a fun, educational Valentine’s game for you to share with your children in the classroom this year.
Whether those children are yours or not. 🙂
Due to current circumstances, I am homeschooling all of mine. We had decided to homeschool them in the Fall because with the moving and everything, it just made it easier on everyone. But we had “planned” for the two oldest to enter school come January (I wasn’t 100% sold on the idea).
But it ended up that we couldn’t even get them into school because all of the classrooms were maxed out on space. Everyone entering after the official beginning of the school year were automatically given the virtual route.
Well that answered that question for us, I will be teaching them at home for the rest of the school year. And given the choice between virtual and in person, we prefer the old school method.
Anyways back to the Valentine’s game…
My oldest LOVED the classroom parties at his school. He often would tell his younger brother about the different games, activities and goodies they would play and get.
Like decorating a box with heart stickers and reds and pinks for all of their Valentines. Going to the store to select Valentine’s cards and addressing them to all of their friends. Decorating heart shaped sugar cookies and devouring them. Playing Valentine’s themed minute-to-win it games and Valentine’s Bingo.
But my son’s favorite part of all, is when they open all of their Valentine cards to see what fun toys, candies, stickers, pencils, stamps, etc. they received from their fellow classmates (these were always his favorite!).
Do you remember your elementary classroom holiday parties? I do! And they really were the best!
So to help fill that void, I have been slowly buying a few Valentines things here and there and planning out activities to play at our own Valentine’s party.
I thought a Valentine’s inspired word search would be a fun and an educational game to play. So I whipped up a Valentine’s word search for us and of course, I had to share it with ya’ll!
Valentine’s Day Word Search
To play, hand out all of the game cards with a writing utensil (Valentine’s pencils of course!). You can have everyone simply fill it out or you can have everyone race to see who can get the most in the allotted time period. Whatever works best for you in your classroom/party!
