Okay, okay, okay! I know what you are thinking… another western theme party? Is this a repeat or something?!
Well… yes and no.
You see we had put so much work into building our western saloon scene for our western party last week and we were so proud of how it turned out, that spending just one night in it wasn’t enough. This was evident to me after our guests left and my husband and I spent a few hours reminiscing over the evening and taking more photos in our costumes and backdrop.
I just LOVE this picture! It’s just perfect the way he is looking off into the distance. Anyways…
An added factor in throwing it again was because two of our key couples (the ones who were familiar with the game we were planning to play) had to cancel last minute. I was pretty bummed about this because I knew they would have really gotten into character and would have helped with the flow of the game.
So we decided to schedule another western theme party (as if we aren’t hosting enough parties!) for the following week. If you have been following out 9 parties in 9 weeks challenge, this party would be um… party… let’s call it party 5.5?
Our 2nd Western Theme Party
Our friends were AWESOME! Everyone knew how to play the game BANG and we were able to jump right into our characters and take the game up a notch. We drank a shot of root beer to get another life (if you have played the game this will make sense) and we used our toy guns to shoot at each other when played certain cards that told us to do so.
One of the couples had stopped at the store on their way to the party to pick up two dart guns and couldn’t get enough of shooting them off at all of us! A little gun happy as you can see from the picture. ๐
Definitely frame worthy!
Don’t you just love my bootlegger friend with her pregnant belly! And my other girlfriend actually won the belt buckle she’s wearing (and the one her husband is wearing) in a rodeo! Sorry my husband and I are the same. We thought about switching costumes… we probably should have for fun.
I think we could easily throw another western theme party like this and have a great time even without all the props but still dressed in our costumes.
We didn’t take all the decorations down in between parties which was probably a good thing because by the end of our second western party I completely had my fill and was ready for the room to be back to normal. And ready to plan for our dance party next week!

This looks like so much fun. I dress western normally so I would have been in my comfort zone. ๐ Thanks for sharing this idea.
