Summer is in full swing at our house.
Which means more activities, more fun, and more BODIES AND TOYS EVERYWHERE!
In a house of seven people, with five of them being little people, the whirlwind of disarray can happen at lightening speed! How my children leave behind so many different, non related toys, in so many different areas of the house is truly amazing.
Currently train tracks cover our family room floor. The couch has a toy car, a stuffed animal, a board game (their current favorite), a few legos, a flashlight and a few other odds and ends on it. Let’s not even mention the toy room. It was recently overthrown by an army of Hot Wheels (they are testing which Hot Wheel is the fastest). The tidying up battle is never ending!
But thankfully this doesn’t last forever (or my sanity would be out the window!).
How We Keep Things Somewhat Orderly
To help keep our home in order, everyone has designated chores that they are responsible for.
Today for example, my oldest is in charge of the entry (tidying up, vacuuming, and sweeping). My 2nd oldest is responsible for sweeping the kitchen and wiping down appliances. The two littles are still working on the basic art of putting things away but they are getting better.
To help us all remember who is in charge of what, on which day, we use a chore chart. This ensures that my boys know what is expected of them and I don’t have to constantly remind them. It’s something so simple, but has made a world of difference for us!
Going along with the theme of my Summer Reading Chart printable, I decided to switch up our current chore checklist. I designed a fun Summer Chore Chart, full of summery colors, that will help brighten up any humdrum chore!
Well that’s the hope anyways! 🙂
Kid’s Summer Chore Chart Printable
The chore chart prints one per page on standard size 8.5 x 11 inch paper. Feel free to print as many copies as you need. Or to save on paper, laminate it using self adhesive laminating sheets. That way you can reuse the chart again and again! These self adhesive magnets work great to put on the back of the chart if you want to put it up on your refrigerator. I like using using these dry erase markers since they are small enough to write on each of the lines.
