A simple gender reveal, yet very special. Post may contain affiliate links.
Stepping away from parties and printables for the moment, I wanted to share with you some exciting personal news. I know, I know the picture is a dead giveaway…
Yes we are having a baby! And we are all very excited! Actually we have been wanting to add another little one to our family for a few years now but without any luck. I am so grateful that we are being blessed with this wee baby whether it be a boy or a girl.
>> Oh and if you like my gender guess signs you can download them HERE.
For our first two, we shared their expected birth and gender in our Christmas cards. We signed the cards from all of us and “baby boy”. The back of the card would have a picture similar to the one we took this year of all of our feet.
We didn’t know the gender of our current little one on the way at Christmas time, so we simply signed it from “the baby”. I had tried my best to find the most generic baby shoes possible. But it didn’t entirely work. A few people congratulated me on having a girl or a boy based on the shoes. O’well!
A few of my husband’s colleagues from work had wanted to throw us a big gender reveal party. And if you know me and parties, I am ALL in favor of them!
But for this, I wanted a very simple gender reveal shared by just my husband and me (and of course the ultrasound technician). And to tell you the truth, if we had let the technician circle the gender and put it in an envelope for the reveal party, I would be afraid of a possible mistake happening! I would want to see if for myself, just to verify. 😉
Our very Simple Gender Reveal
To tell our boys about their new baby sibling, we first showed them the ultrasound picture of our baby. Then we put our 6 year old’s reading to the test. As you can see by the next picture, he was pretty excited when he sounded the word out!
We’re having a BOY!
We are all super excited!!! Honestly we would have been happy either way. A girl would have been fun but a little boy is awesome too!
A lady at the dental office said “You poor thing!” when she found out I was having another little boy. Quite the contrary! I told her I was thrilled to have another boy! I am familiar with how to parent boys, we are fully stocked with boy’s toys and clothes and an added perk is, I get to keep the title of ‘boymom’.
And this is how my husband likes to tell coworkers that we are going to have a baby boy. With the “classic birth announcement” as the bubble gum cigars say. They are fun but to tell you the truth not the tastiest so he also gets the chocolate cigars. Yes usually people would wait until after the baby is born, but he gets so excited right after finding out the gender that he cannot wait that long!
So now that we know the gender, the next question is, what should we name this little squirmy (he does somersaults and kicks like no other!) baby boy? Any suggestions?

Congrats! How exciting! It’s apparently the year of boys. I have to admit I really wanted a girl for my lil girl to play with. And then I felt guilty for feeling that way. Little boys are very fun. I’m sure I’ll be dying in love once I see him! I hope you’re feeling well!
