What could be better than throwing a football themed baby shower for your new mama-to-be friend who is a loyal football fanatic!?!
I had an opportunity to host a baby shower for a friend who is expecting her first little boy. What’s funny is she wasn’t into the sport at all until she married an avid football fan. Now she is ALL about it!

She was delighted with the theme, but not as nearly as much as her husband was! I get such a kick out of how excited the guys get when it’s a sports themed baby shower. As also seen at the baseball baby shower I helped throw. It’s actually the only type of baby shower that I’ve ever hosted that the husbands actually come to! Not that they have to be there or anything… 😉
The football baby shower was a lot of fun to put together. I created several party printables to tie in the theme, including mini football pennant flags.
The idea came about when I found these football cupcake liners while perusing the store for supplies. Obviously I just had to buy them!
I felt the cupcakes needed a little something extra so I designed mini pennant flags. They added the perfect finishing touch to the cupcakes! Nothing too major but I really liked how they brought in the tailgate feel I was going for.
Mini Football Pennant Flags
To claim your mini flags, click the link below to download and unzip the file. Print the flags at home or your local print shop. I recommend printing them on cardstock. After you cut out the flags, attach each with clear tape to a wooden stick (I used rock candy sticks) or paper straw or whatever you want and you’re all set!
