It’s never too early to begin gathering Fiesta Party Ideas for your next Cinco de Mayo party! Heck, why wait?! Post may contain affiliate links.
Throwing a Fiesta Party is always a good idea and was a perfect way to celebrate that we have just one party left in our challenge to throw 9 parties in 9 weeks!
Really who isn’t a fan of Mexican food? There is something for everyone, even if you are a very health conscious picky eater like my mom. Growing up my family didn’t go out to eat at restaurants very often (I have seven siblings) but when we did, we dined at Mexican restaurants. We ate so much Mexican food that I have almost said that I am part Spanish… but then I catch myself for I don’t have an ounce, but I still enjoy their cooking!
Fiesta Party Ideas
I LOVED all the bright colors (especially during these dreary months) that came with throwing and preparing for this party. The decorations for the fiesta did take some time to create but it was all very inexpensive and it did help that chili pepper lights were already in my party supply stash. π
My two ‘go to’ items for this party were tissue paper and streamers.
Speaking of tissue paper, who else saves the tissue paper from presents and ‘regifts’ them in presents to others?
I am one of those peeps.
In fact, the first time I ever bought tissue paper was several weeks ago to make a tassel banner for our White Elephant Bingo Party, only because I didn’t have the colors I wanted. But with this bright colored fiesta party, my stash of tissue paper was put to good use and now is a bit smaller. π
I cut out all of the paper flags much to my friend’s amazement. Yes, I was a little scissor happy.
How do you like my little cactus banner?! Its a great alternative to a 3-d pinata but with the same type of look and feel. This cute banner didn’t cost me a penny thanks to my supply of tissue paper. And never fret! I know you are now DYING to make this, right!?! π Click HERE for the tutorial on how to make this cactus pinata banner.
We were able to get another use of the sombrero we had purchased for our Western Party and dressed it up with a few carnations. Flowers made from… you guessed it… TISSUE PAPER! If you want to learn how to make your own tissue paper flowers, just click HERE for the tutorial.
Remember the big tissue heart from our Dance/Valentine’s Party? Well it was put to good use and recycled to use in our photo backdrop as a top border… having these flower/pom poms already done saved me a LOT of time!
The photo backdrop was a success and everyone had fun with the festive props.
Hope these Mexican Fiesta Party Ideas help you plan a divertido fiesta! Ole!

Fiestas mean parties in Spanish. I grew up watching my dad make piΓ±ata’s. To keep my Mexican traditions alive, I started making them as well in the 90’s! I love to see others enjoy our traditions. Keep up the good work!

You’re so creative! First the pinterest party and then this! I’m the antithesis of a crafter, but I really admire people that can pull stuff like this off. I love those flowers though…I made them with a Spanish class I once taught and actually enjoyed it!

Thanks Lulia! You may be a crafter after all. π
