Use this valuable LDS Baptism Program Checklist to help your child/friend easily plan their own baptism program. Getting their input will make the day that much more meaningful and special for them!
So you planning a baptism in the near future?
Great! Because I have a super helpful printable that will make the whole LDS baptism program planning a breeze. Especially for those of you that may just not know where to even start. I was there two years ago organizing my eldest son’s baptism, so I’ve totally got your back!
All you need to do is print this baptism program checklist and then pass it off to whoever is getting baptized to fill out. See I told you it would be easy! ๐
In all seriousness though, this worksheet was designed for the person getting baptized. When an individual has a hand in personally planning their own baptism, it will mean that much more to them because it was customized exactly to their liking. Not what you think they will enjoy. That has been my experience anyway.
For instance, I assumed that my oldest would pick a baptism themed primary song. Naturally, right? It is a baptism and that’s what it seems everyone does.
Nope, not him! He wanted “Praise to the Man” and “We’ll Bring the World His Truth” because those are his two favorite. Awesome songs for sure, but not what I would have picked.
How to use the Baptism Checklist
I divided this printable into two sections, the brainstorming side and the planning side.
Simply have your child write down all the people they want involved in their baptism program. Siblings, parents, grandparents, extended family members, Sunday School teachers, activity day leaders, bishopric members, church friends, you get the general idea. Any and everyone.
Then have them go down their list and pick which task they would like each person to fill. Once that side is filled, have them reach out to that friend or family member via phone or in person, to let them know about their upcoming baptism, the date, and if they could be involved by leading the music, giving the talk, being in the confirmation circle, or whatever it is. My boys were super excited to ask some of their favorite people to help on their special day.
If the individual says yes, you could have them put a star next to their name on the schedule side and cross off their name on the “who can help” side. Or whatever way makes sense for you and your child to keep track.
Once all the assignments are filled…
BAM!
You already have the complete outline of the baptism! Easy peasy lemon squeezy, right?!
Now you just need to plug in the outline in a baptism program template or if the primary presidency volunteered to create it, hand it off to them.
Hopefully this simple worksheet aids you making the planning of your child’s very special day less stressful! I designed it for my second eldest’s baptism and found it very, very helpful!

Super cute! Just wanted to let you know that you have the first “your” spelled wrong. It should not be “you’re.”
