Lovely ideas for throwing a Floral Baby Shower Brunch to celebrate the new little one and the mama-to-be! Post may contain affiliate links.
Celebrating sweet little babies. Could anything be more special!?
I think each and every baby should be adored and every mama should be honored whether she is pregnant with her first or her 5th baby! And what better way than to throw her a party and shower her with love!
Whether a first time mom or not, I don’t know any mama that would turn down a pack of diapers! And who can resist a precious newborn outfit?!? Especially if their baby clothes are a little worn out from multiple ‘hand-me-downs’!
But it’s more than just the gifts, it’s a time to celebrate the miracle of life with close friends and family. A PERFECT reason to throw a party! ๐
My friend McKenna was going to be welcoming her 4th child so it definitely deserved a special celebration!
Floral Baby Shower Brunch Ideas
It actually took me a while to finally settle down and decide on a floral baby shower theme. I honestly had been wanting to do so, but it was a little daunting compared to my past animal baby shower themes.
Why?
Because it required working with flowers, and besides putting some in a vase, that was my extent of using them!
I had ideas of what I wanted but was a little nervous about tackling the projects! Namely the floral hula hoop, the wood signs, the cake… to name a few! (hindsight, it really wasn’t that bad).
And despite a few set backs like getting sick and needing to paint a wall just days before the shower (the floral theme would have NOT looked good on our red papered wall!)- thankfully everything came together beautifully!
The Decorations
For baby shower decorations, I like having three points of interest: the entrance, the gift area, and the food table- anywhere else is a cherry on top!
There is usually someone who hasn’t been to the baby shower venue, so I like to have balloons on the mailbox or something outside to help mark the spot. It’s also fun to dress up the entrance a little so people can get excited for the party before they even walk in. My favorite entrance so far has to be the one from the baseball baby shower I helped throw. The theme music really did it! ๐
This gorgeous chalkboard sign with a bit of greenery did the trick. For the wreath on the door, I actually used a cake topper that says “It’s a Girl!” which worked perfectly!
I used a combination of pale pink, white, green, and gold for the decorations. So when I saw these adorable gold baby shoes I couldn’t help but get them! Talk about the perfect touch of gold and it doubled as a gift for the sweet mama! Win-win!
A definite must at a baby shower is to have envelopes for guests to address to themselves when they walk in. After the shower, I give the thank-you cards and envelopes to the new mama.
Special shout out to my friend Amiee who made these lovely cupcakes we had as party favors! They were gorgeous and delicious! They fit so well with the decor that we displayed one on the food table – so you can see this beauty close up!
The Brunch
Special thanks to my friend Caden who saved the day in many ways, but the biggest one of all was that she made the cake!
We placed flowers and shrubbery just minutes before guests arrived! I know, living on the edge right? ๐
I was super pleased how pretty it turned out! And truth be told, we actually didn’t even cut into it during the shower, because it was more the focal point for the table than a planned on treat.
Another highlight of the food table was the floral hula hoop wreath. Which is in fact made from an actual hula hoop! Pretty, right?!
I kept putting this project off because I had no clue how I was going to make it! Finally I just buckled down one day and made it! You interested in learning how? I was thinking about posting a tutorial, so let me know! ๐
Baby Shower Activities
Do you like playing games at showers?
For some reason baby shower games get a bad rap. I enjoy them because it provides an activity aside from just chatting, munching, and opening up gifts. Depending on the game, it can also be a great way for guests to get to know each other and the mama-to-be.
And besides that, who doesn’t like the chance of winning a prize?!? ๐
I designed a few printable games for the baby shower, one of my favorites at such gatherings is “Find the Guest“. It’s a fun get-to-know you game that encourages the guests to mix and mingle and it’s the perfect game to get the event rolling!
What’s awesome is every time I have played this game, someone remarks “I never knew that about you!” to a fellow friend they had known for a while.
After munching and more chatting, we played “Who Knows Mama Best”. I like this game because it focuses on the mama-to-be and getting to know her a bit more. I’ll be providing this game printable for free in the near future, so stay tuned!
We also played “What’s on your Phone” just for fun.
The new little one’s name was already decided on, so I was able to create a banner using her name (and I gave it to the mama to take home afterwards).
You like the sign?! This was another item that I knew I wanted for this floral baby shower, a wood sign that said “baby”.
I had been perusing the internet to find one that I like but my husband and I ended up making it ourselves. You can check out how we did it here. The process is easier than you think! ๐
We ate, we enjoyed, and the mama-to-be was showered with love! I’d say this was another successful baby shower in the books! ๐
