Put your old jars to good use with this easy Christmas jar craft tutorial! It makes a cute gift for a friend and/or a great holiday decor for yourself!
The holidays are here! And if you are like me, you have a LOOOOOOOOONG list of people that you want to give a little something special to. For example my son’s teacher at school, my boy’s Sunday School teachers at church, our neighbors, ladies from church… the list goes on!
Today I wanted to share a cute and inexpensive craft that would be a perfect gift to let someone know that you care. And a great way to get rid of a few extra jars you might have laying around the house. ๐
But first…
Baby Update!
Little Fallon man is 6 months old! He mastered the army crawl and began full on crawling two days before his 6th month mark. You think we were brand new spanking parents, the way we encouraged him on so much. Now that he can crawl, heaven help us! He is such an inquisitive fellow who gets bored quickly, so he is constantly on the move!
Thankfully his two older brothers keep him entertained. Even just watching them play, he is content. For awhile anyways, until he decides it’s his turn to jump in on the fun. ๐
Okay… back to our Christmas jar craft!
Christmas Jar Craft Tutorial
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Jar
- Paint Brush
- Painters Tape
- Scissors
- Acrylic Paint
- Matte Clear Sealer
- Glue
- Twine or Ribbon
DIRECTIONS:
I sketched a tree on a piece of painters tape, putting two pieces of the tape together to get a wider tree. Then placed the tree cutout on the jar and taped the top and bottom of the jar. I used 4 coats of acrylic paint, letting each layer dry completely and then sealed it with a coat of a matte clear sealer.
After it’s all dry, peel off the tape, wrap the top with twine or ribbon of your choosing, fill it with festive candy, and voila! The perfect little Christmas gift!
How about you? What’s a go to type of gift you like to give the people on your list or are you always changing it up each year? I’d like to hear your ideas!
Another idea for a gift is to frame this beautiful Christmas printable.
Or there is always giving cash… in a creative way of course. ๐
And if you would like to give a little piece of heaven to your friends, bake these delicious cookies for them!
