We’re halfway through winter… and honestly, January and February are my least favorite months of the year. You go from the high of the holidays straight into the cold, gray stretch of winter. No bueno.
Right in the middle of those two lonely months, though, is a holiday that’s meant to bring a little love and cheer to the season.
Now that I’m a mom, Valentine’s Day mostly revolves around my kids. I make little Valentines with them (I even designed the cutest ballerina Valentine cards for my youngest) and help get cards ready for all of their classmates. And remember… I have five kids. It adds up fast.
And while I truly love putting together Valentine’s Day cards and goodies for my kids’ little friends, I started thinking… what about my own friends? I think the kid in all of us still enjoys receiving a little something that says someone was thinking of us.
So I started brainstorming ideas for a simple Valentine I could share with my girlfriends — or even a not-so-close friend who might just need a little extra love. I didn’t want anything overly romantic or cheesy. And I definitely didn’t want something that felt too “little kid Valentine.” I wanted to design something bright and fun that would make someone smile. And I wanted to pair it with a small gift they would actually use.
That’s when the idea for these Chappy Valentine printable cards started to come together.

I wanted something that felt fun and a little nostalgic. But I also wanted it to feel totally giftable for friends, coworkers, or anyone who could use a little unexpected pick-me-up during these dreary winter months.
And let’s be honest — this time of year, everyone can use chapstick.
A few years ago I was given a Nature’s Bees lip balm and loved it, but couldn’t find it anywhere for the longest time. When I finally found it again, I could only buy it in bulk — so I grabbed a bunch around Christmas.
So when I started thinking about something small, useful, and easy to give, my chapstick stash immediately came to mind. From there, the idea for these Chappy Valentine’s Day cards really started to take shape.
So these Chappy Valentine’s Day cards are bright, cheerful, and super easy to put together. They’re perfect if you’re making Valentines for girlfriends, classmates, or coworkers — or if you just want a simple little Galentine-style surprise for someone who deserves it.
Because sometimes the best Valentines are the ones that simply say,
“Hey — I thought of you.”
Printing & Assembling the Chappy Valentine’s Day Cards
- Download the printable file to your computer. The file will save to your Downloads folder as a ZIP file — simply double-click to open it.
- Print the Chappy Valentine printable cards on white cardstock for best results (regular paper works too).
- Cut out each card and attach a lip balm or chapstick using fun washi tape or a small dab of glue. Don’t forget to write your name on it!
- Share with girlfriends, coworkers, classmates, or use them as simple Galentine’s Day treats for the people who make your life a little brighter.
