This Bridal Shower Waffle Bar is such a great brunch idea. It’s sweet, simple, and delicious!
Okay, so this post is LOOOOOOOOOONNNGGG overdue since the bride-to-be is now married. But it came together so lovely that I couldn’t not share it with you! You know me and parties. 😉
Anyways, this past summer, my sister asked me if I would help her with a bridal shower she was throwing for her best friend. We were cross country from each other so our brainstorming sessions happened over the phone.
After perusing Pinterest and giving a few suggestions she decided on having a waffle bar for the bridal shower. I was super excited she chose that idea, not that I eat a lot of waffles or anything, but there are SO many different possibilities and there’s actually not too much food/baking prep, which is a great perk!
I flew into town a few days before the scheduled bridal shower and asked my sister about discussing details for the shower and when we would buy supplies. Busy with other things, she kept brushing it off and asked, “Couldn’t we just plan it the night before?”
Ha, ha…. reeaaallly?!
Sure, if you want to just have cake, ice-cream, and a few games you could definitely plan it the night before. 😉
Anyways, I went ahead and created an outline for decorations and such because I knew we would need it. True to her word, we didn’t go shopping for supplies or start working on the shower until the day before.
Thanks to the wee hours of the morning and our mother’s help, we were able to pull it off ……and quite nicely I might add.
Bridal Shower Waffle Bar Toppings
The sky is the limit on toppings for waffles! Having a variety of toppings is nice so that guests can customize their waffles exactly to their liking. Here are the toppings we served:
- raspberries
- blueberries
- strawberries
- blackberries
- cherries
- pecans
- mini chocolate chips
- Nutella
- freshly made whipped cream
- powdered sugar
- cinnamon
- maple syrup
Can I just say that our waffle cake was DELICIOUS! Perhaps just being in the form of a cake made it taste that much better. The top is whipped cream but the other two layers are frosting. I did it that way so that cake would keep its shape.
Congrats to the beautiful bride(now married 🙂 )-to-be! It was fun catching up with old friends at the bridal shower. A big thanks to my sister for inviting me to help.
Will you be hosting a bridal shower waffle bar?
