Adorable ideas for a baseball themed baby shower. This post may contain affiliate links.
Where do I even begin?! This baseball themed baby shower was SO much fun to throw! Everything was just perfect!
I admit, when brainstorming possible themes for the shower with the mama-to-be, I was still caught up on the complete cuteness of the pink elephant baby shower from a few months back and wanted to give it a little twist of blue. I immediately wished I hadn’t mentioned a baseball themed shower because she jumped all over the suggestion (her husband is a BIG baseball fan).
After collaborating with Sarah, my party planning cohort, and getting a game plan together, I started getting really excited because the ideas just kept coming! I mean how can you not be happy listening to “Take Me out to the Ball Game” while eating popcorn and cracker jacks? Okay, so I would prefer licorice, but anyways…
We received a jump start on our decor thanks to a friend who let us borrow a lot of her kid’s baseball gear. She had to assure her kids that I would be returning all of their baseballs. ๐
Baseball Themed Baby Shower Ideas
To prep all of our guests for the baseball theme, I sent out baseball ticket invitesย and encouraged everyone to wear any baseball paraphernalia that they might have. I LOVE parties that get the guests immersed into the theme. It adds a TON to the ambiance.
The outside entrance to our shower was FABULOUS!!! The idea to use our lighted chalkboard sign was actually my husbands. And get this… we had a blue tooth set up to repeatedly play “Take Me out to the Gall Game!” that guests heard while they walked to the front door.
I am still giddy just thinking about how perfect it all was! Really what says baseball more than an organ playing that song?
For the entry table, we had envelopes for guests to write their addresses. I have found having thank-you cards already purchased and addressed is a HUGE help to the mama-to-be who already has enough things to worry about.
The mini chocolate baseballs were perfect for our guessing jar and the mama-to-be was spot on with her number!ย I designed little paper baseballs cutouts for guests to write their guesses on that you can download HERE. The baseball circles measure 1.5 inches so if you have a 1.5 inch circle hole punch you are in luck!
Another shot of the outside entryway which looked even better at night!
The Concessions Stand
The “concessions” table was full of foods you typically would find at the ballpark. We hadย peanuts, cracker jacks, Baby Ruth candy bars (the name itself is baseball!), sunflower seeds, popcorn, licorice, little smokies (a little twist on the hotdogs) and had a veggie tray for the healthy eater. We used a checkered tablecloth for the backdrop and added paper fans my friend found in her 4th of July decorations. We tied it all together with this baseball concession banner. . . that you can use too! ๐ Click HERE to download it.
Aren’t these mini coke bottles soooooo cute!?!
I designed these little baseball pennant flags that helped add some dimension to our peanut jars. We used the peanuts more as a decorative piece than to actually eat. I like peanuts and all, but you know those restaurants that have peanuts? Have you seen their floors? Sarah didn’t want to duplicate the mess on her floors and I definitely don’t blame her!
We played Baby Bingo to keep the guests entertained and attentive while the mama-to-be was unwrapping her gifts. You can download the Baseball Baby Bingo Cards over HERE.
The chocolate bats and baseball sugar cookies were a perfect touch all thanks to Sarah’s culinary expertise.
It was easy to get carried away with the baseballs and forget about the ‘baby’ part of the decorations! The baby clothes (baseball onesies of course!) banner helped add a bit of ‘baby’ the mantel was lacking and doubled as gifts for the mama-to-be!
Our baseball themed baby shower was a hit! Everyone had a ball!
Okay, okay!ย I’ll stop with the dry humor. ๐
One of the best parts of the evening, was when the daddy-to-be dropped off his wife and took a peek inside the house before everyone arrived (rememberย he is the big baseball fan).ย Anyways, he loved everything about it, he even had unplanned baseball attire on to match!
Geeze laweeze, I LOVE throwing baby showers! I’m so glad I had the opportunity to help host this party with Sarah for our lovely friend Brooke.
How about you? When are you throwing your next baby shower? Would you be tempted to turn it more on the sporty side? ๐

I would love to know where you got the lighted chalkboard.
Aspen Jay says
Hi Patricia!
I’m so glad you like it! We actually made it ourselves and it was pretty easy to do. We had a piece of wood we drilled holes in. Taped it off to paint the middle with chalkboard paint and spray painted the border gold. We just used some big bulb/garden lights and unscrewed each bulb to fit inside the holes. And that was it! ๐

Thanks!

I would love to use the picture of the balls in the jar guessing game, can you tell me what the answer is?
Aspen Jay says
Hi Nici!
Just to clarify, did you want to know how many little chocolate baseballs that I had in the mason jar?
Nici Bontrager says
Yes please! I wanted to use your picture for something but wondered the total! ๐
Aspen Jay says
Just curious… for what? Sorry Nici, I am just a curious person! There were 64 chocolate baseballs in the guessing jar.

No problem! I sell LulaRoe clothing online, and we are having a baseball themed event on Facebook (we often aim for a theme of some kind to go with what’s going on in life) – we wanted to have a little game for the guests and I found your picture when I googled “guess the number baseball”.

Oh, gotcha! ๐
