Here is some excitement…I almost saw a robbery take place, black gloves and everything. Where at you may ask? Oh, just my house! I was laying down with my boys and heard a knock at the door. A minute or so later I heard someone knock again really loud this time. ‘Who in the world? Don’t they know I have kids? I wonder who it was? The mailman wouldn’t knock twice…’ A few minutes later I carefully rolled out of bed so as not to wake either of my boys. I went into the kitchen to work on this post and sat at the table which is by the window that faces our backyard. A few minutes later, I see a teenageish kid stop in front of the window (literally right in front of me but our windows are hard to see through from the outside unless you are looking straight in). ‘What in the world?…’ Anyways he looked around once and then proceeded to put on black gloves! Um its like 84 degree outside, there really is no need for those. I stared at him with the attitude of ‘Dude, what in the world are you doing in my backyard?’ He finally looked right through the window and saw me. It must have been the evil eye that I gave him, because he gave a sheepish look and hurried away. I went to the small front door window to see which way he went but he was no where to be seen.
I immediately called my husband who told me to call 911. Never done that before. As I spoke with the lady on the other end, I began to get a little shaken up realizing what had just happened… and what almost did happen. Ah! I wish I would have had sense enough to grab my phone to take a picture, but in the moment I didn’t realize what he was planning but was just irritated he was in my backyard. He would have been sorely disappointed, we don’t even have a tv… not that that would have been normal to carry out of someone’s house anyway… Some kid’s toys?
A police officer came to my house and asked a few questions. Several minutes later two more came and asked me to come with them to identify someone they thought may be the young man. I explained that I had two kids asleep but could wake them up to come along. The officer hesitated and then volunteered for the other officer to stay with my boys, since it would only be a few minutes. Um… leave my children with a complete stranger? I should say NOT! My neighbor was a much better choice! I sat in the back of the car with tinted windows as we drove past the suspect, but it was not the same guy. Poor Boston was all shaken up when my neighbors came over to watch him and Tennessee while I went with the officer. Geewize, what if I hadn’t been sitting at the window or he had not have seen me? What if I had been asleep with the boys? I sure am grateful I said my prayers this morning!
Okay, now for a picture overload of my boys. Look who found his thumb!
Tennessee is 11 weeks today! If you can capture his attention, he will be sure to give you an overload of smiles and tell you all about his day (in baby of course). He is beginning to chunken up, reaching the scale at 13 lbs and showing signs of a double chin.
We have the best neighbors. One took Boston for a ride on his lawnmower… and mowed our lawn in the process.
My husband was away for two days on a business trip and I… well I didn’t feel like playing mama all day. So we ordered pizza and watched a few, okay several, movies.
Tennessee doesn’t mind tummy time too much. Two weeks ago, he just shot up onto his arms. By the looks of it, we suspect he will be crawling a lot sooner than Boston. He is my little wiggle worm. He loves to move around… including kicking me when he is nursing. Isn’t he so precious!
This is how my husband calms Tennessee down.
Speaking of my husband, look what he picked up two weeks ago. Thanks to some friendly competition at work, he got back into the grove of running after three years.
See those carefully lined up crayons? After drawing a few strokes, Boston would carefully place the crayon inline with the others. He definitely follows after me in liking to have things in order.
One more to finish us off.
That is all! Hope you are having a good week and that you do not encounter any robberies!

Oh my goodness! That is so scary! I am so glad you are ok! I go through a similar scenario in my head all the time and think, “what would I do?!?”

CRAZY!!! Glad to hear you are all ok. Little Tennessee sounds like Riley. He sucks his thumb, smiles at anyone who wants to smile at him, makes his voice heard, talks your ear off with tall tales ๐ and is so long that he kicks whomever I am next to when I am nursing him. I also think he will be crawling a lot sooner than Rhianna because he is rolling from his tummy to his back now. And as much as I think that its exciting that he has rolled over and seems to be growing up so fast I am a little nervous about having him crawl around so soon! Ah!! ๐

Rhianna will keep him in line, if he starts crawling early so that you don’t have to chase him… that is the hope I have for Tennessee and Boston! Excited to see you soon and to see the kids interact!
